Sustainable Development Target on combating desertification urges us to achieve a Land Degradation Neutral (LDN) World by 2030, and the indicators help us to monitor LDN are; land cover change, land productivity dynamics and soil organic carbon. All LDN related activities directly contribute to climate change mitigation and adaptation. In order to achieve LDN targets, Turkey has been conducting numerous projects such as; Soil Organic Carbon Mapping Project, Desertification Risk Map, Land Degradation Neutrality Upper Sakarya Basin Project, Sustainable Land Management and Climate-Friendly Agriculture Project, National Land Cover Classification and Monitoring System, Water Erosion Risk Map, etc.
